I'm not sure which I'm most excited about — having a go at "proper" fishing or getting to brush up my cycling skills — both of which will be on offer at the RNLI Festival on 1st June. Yes — the festival preparations are now in full swing with Rodney, the festival organiser, calling me most days of the week to update me on yet another brilliant activity he's managed to line up — I don't know how he does it — he's amazing! He has so much energy and enthusiasm he really puts me to shame. This week we have a meeting with Leonard Brothers Vets who are based in Whitchurch and Wistaston. This year they will be sponsoring and running the companion dog show — always very popular with every dog on the marina and any one else come to think of it. Last year daughter no. 2 and her cousin spent a whole day feeding cousin's labrador dog treats to teach him to crawl along the floor — intending to take the crown of "best trick". Unfortunately for them, labs being labs, he scoffed so many treats in the run up he was too stuffed to do anything more than waddle along wagging his tail and hoping for more treats....
