Happy New Year 2015

christmas, xmas, decoration, snow, christmas tree

Normally I feel quite reflective at the start of the year — looking back, 2015 has been quite a whirlwind. We seem to have galloped though the spring before settling to a slower cruise through the summer and autumn (there you go — I managed to get two of my favourite interests in — boats and horses!!) Since time does get relatively shorter as you get older (think about that one) it's no surprise to find us into a fresh new year. This year I've decided to try something different, I'm not looking back and thinking if only I'd done this or that. I'm opting for the getting on with things option and aiming to enjoy life a little bit more. The other really important thing I'm doing is baking a birthday cake for daughter No.2 who was born on New Year's Day. It's actually quite a good day for a birthday and from a parent point of view a pretty cheap way of celebrating — for years we've been telling her that the fireworks on the telly in London at midnight on New Year's Eve are specially for her birthday!
