I'm back!

Some of you may have noticed it's been a while — apologies — Angus, the children and I sneaked off for a family holiday while we still can — we had the kind offer of using a ski chalet in the French Alps. In the first 24 hours we were there we had over a foot of snow.

Three days later it was still snowing and it made the snowfalls we had earlier in the year in the UK look more like light dustings. By Friday we hit minus seventeen with a wind chill of over minus twenty so at that stage we did the sensible thing and moved from skiing to the considerable pleasures of drinking hot chocolate avec Grand Marnier. It felt positively tropical when we got back to three degrees at Liverpool on Friday night.

Now — back to the marina — while I was away lots of exciting things have happened — the life buoys have been put up (so now we're officially allowed to fall in), and the first fix of electrics and most of the plaster boarding has gone into the Facilities Building. The rooms at last look like rooms and the views from the coffee lounge are superb! This week should see more progress on the last of the earth moving and the rest of the footpaths can then start going in.
