Kingfisher

Friday was an exciting day in the office, Colin looked out of the office window and suddenly announced "Kingfisher!" and there, bold as brass, sitting on the post by the Audlem Lass jetty was the most beautiful kingfisher! We've had a number of sightings recently, one moorer has seen him (for the sake of argument I'll assume it's a 'him') a couple of times, but I've never seen him on the Marina myself. It was such a grey old day on Friday and there in front of our eyes was the most strikingly bright blue kingfisher, like someone had painted him in on a greyscale background, sitting as still as can be for a number of minutes. Apparently they tend to be stiller in the winter as they conserve their energy levels to keep out the cold.........which probabaly explains why we all feel a bit steadier this time of year!
