I've just been onto the IWA calendar to vote for my favourite photos for the next IWA calendar — one of our moorers has had his photo of our bridge — Bridge 80 (Bennett's Bridge) short listed. It's really exciting to see such a fantastic photo of somewhere you know so well! If you want to vote you can click on this link, click on "winter" and vote for it! For the rest of us budding photographers we are now planning the next Audlem RNLI Festival and I'd really like to have another photography competition. We're thinking through the categories — not as easy as it seems — we want to give people as much scope as possible but keep it with a waterways theme. The festival is quite a while off (1st June) but the planning has already started in earnest. Every year I seem to go through the same emotional rollercoaster — it all seems like a really good idea, then it seems to take forever to plan, then you worry if anyone will care enough to come along, then you panic that they won't enjoy it when they do, then it happens, then you collapse in a heap afterwards declaring that it was great but you don't want to go through all that again, then a month or two later you start to think about next year...then it all seems like a really good idea...
