No excuses

There's no excuses — it has been pointed out to me that I've been slacking just lately. I'm ashamed to realise that it's almost a month since I last wrote a blog — all those new year resolutions gone out of the window already! My only defence is that I figure that as you get older a year becomes relatively shorter (in comparison to your experience) so therefore time flies faster as you get older (does that make sense? — it does to me — call in at the Marina Office if you want to debate it further). Anyway, regardless of such philosophising (and no — I'm not sure if that's the correct spelling), there's still no excuse for slacking but I'll give it a go. Since October I''ve been very privileged to take part in a business programme called 10,000 Small Businesses. It's funded by Goldman Sachs and aims to promote growth in the economy. What it means for me is that I get stacks of business training to learn all the stuff I don't know about and to correct all the stuff I thought I knew about! It's really interesting and the sort of thing you have to fully embrace to get the most out of it, which is all well and good if you have loads of time. Which brings me back to thinking about time getting relatively faster — perhaps it would be good if we could add an extra day to the weekend — we could still have the week as 5 days but the weekend as 3 — just adjust all the calendars, have a rolling year system and bob's your uncle — I'd get more time to finish stuff off, be at the marina and spend time with the girls, now why hasn't anyone thought of that before??
