What a weekend! We had a fantastic opening do on Saturday and I'm still chuckling at the look on peoples faces when they became aware of Mavis and Dennis Bunthorne on the Angry Bull making their way along the cut. Our MC Alastair was superb and soon had everyone in with the joke. Tim Dobson of Chesnut Meats brought a delicious hog roast, The Bridge Inn from Audlem provided a bar, and we all danced the night away to some brilliant music. It has to be said that the Overwater Prize for star turn has to go to Dominic Miles of Rugby Boats Sales, who stunned everyone with his guitar playing and singing — well done Dominic (and can you be free for the next do?) As for me — well I refute the claim that I should have had a far worse hangover.

As my project manager has pointed out many times — I am a complete lightweight as far as alcohol goes, with two glasses seeing me dancing on the tables, so despite the evidence (yes I do remember the bit where I played electric guitar wearing a red wig!!!) no hangover was evident for our Open Day on Sunday for which the Overwater Coffee Lounge served cream teas (yum!) Now it's back to reality (school holidays!!) and getting on with making Overwater the best marina ever!
