Snow on the 31st of March!

As I'm staring out of the window I can't help thinking that snow on the 31st March is not good, not good at all!! Snow, rain, high winds, how on earth will the Easter Bunny cope with all of that (and believe me in a house with two small children it is something of a concern!) More importantly why is it that every bank holiday weekend we have to cope with severe weather warnings and congestion on the roads — strikes me that there is no better place to hide out than in a nice cosy boat with the heater lit!

On site it's been a week of transition for us all. Getting used to having boats and people around has been quite strange. On the one hand it's given the place a new dimension and on the other hand it has changed from being "my marina" to "our marina", almost like the place has grown up all of a sudden and I think I'm suffering from "empty nest" syndrome!!

Some things never do change though — and one thing I've learned from being on site is that every day is different and every day there is something to share a laugh about. Today it was Phil the fencer — poor Phil, he looked very professional striding across the new topsoil by the workshop to measure out how much fencing we need — perhaps not too advisable given the wet weather and I turned round to find him well and truly stuck in the mud, then to make matters worse, Tom, his helper got stuck too. There is no funnier site than two grown men losing their wellies in the mud while the client (that would be me) stood by shouting "stop, don't pull him out yet, just let me get my camera.........."
