Welcome to all ducklings!

Fantastic news! The first ducklings are here! One of our moorers has spotted the group of little ducklings being ushered across the marina to the island on their maiden swim — what a fantastic sight! I am sure this will be the first group of many as there seem to be lots and lots of romantic trysts going on in the water's edge vegetation.

As for other things, the new security gates have been electrified this week, now we have the task of making sure everyone has a key fob before we start to use them so if you haven't got one yet — call in at the marina office asap. Which leads me nicely onto the other big news of the week — at last we have moved into the facilities building. This means two really important things — the showers, toilets, elsan and laundry room are available, and, more importantly, we finally get to have a proper office!! I've always had a bit of a thing for stationery so this is brilliant!!! We now have a proper computer, laser printer and even a till (when we work out how to program it!)

On a down side the specialist cleaners we had in early last week didn't turn out to be quite what we had hoped and we had to get some more guys in later on in the week and I just want to say a REALLY big thank you to the moorers who offered to give up their own time to muck in and help get the building sorted out — we didn't take up their kind offer but I can't tell you how much it meant to us as that point in time!
