The Canal and River Trust's national winter canal maintenance programme is available from this link: CRT Winter Closures.

The local closures, for the North Wales and West stoppages, in summary form, can be downloaded from the icon in the right hand column.

  • There is an extensive rolling programme of work along the Llangollen from the 3rd of November through until the 21st of December.
  • The Anderton Boat Lift, a popular cruising destination, will be closed between the 10th of November and the 12th December
  • To the south of the Marina, a repair to the culvert at Bridge 79, Moss Hall, Audlem will result in the canal being closed between the 2nd and 8th February 2015. At the same time the leaking culvert at Hawksmoor Bridge 72, near Adderley, will be repaired, although this requires a longer period of closure until the 20th February
  • To the north of the Marina the canal to Nantwich will remain open although work on the Chester branch will close the Tilstone Lock 13 between the 5th to 30th January 2015. The Middlewich branch work will result in the Cholmondeston Lock being closed between the 9th and 27th February.
