Come and join us on Sunday 24th June 2012 for Safety Afloat Sunday — our mini waterways festival with water safety in mind. Whether you're interested in the safety demonstrations in the water, the RAF helicopter, a chance to meet a lifeguard and discover more about the RNLI, or just want to have a go at model boating and fancy an afternoon tea by the canalside, all in aid of the RNLI then come and join us — entry is free. Our resident Boat Safety Examiner will be available to give Boat Safety advice and our local bobbies on the beat will be here offering advice on keeping your boat secure when travelling the network.
Moorers arts and crafts will be on display, with a waterways themed photography competition (entry forms are now available from the Marina Reception or by emailing the Marina Office on firstname.lastname@example.org. Categories are Waterways, Overwater Marina, Waterways People and Your Boat Pet.
There's a serious side too — you could learn to save a life. There will be free First Aid and CPR seminars. Audlem First Responders will be there too so you can learn more about their vital work in the area.
We are also hoping to run a boaty bring and buy table in aid of the RNLI so tidy out those boat lockers for spring and bring something along!
The Audlem Lass will be running all day.
Make a note of the date — Sunday 24th June for a great day out
