Environment

At Overwater we are keen to promote responsible and sustainable boating. Our environment is your environment - it is ours for only a short lifetime and we feel we all have some responsibility to keep our impact on it to a minimum and to try to enhance it where we can.

We have been audited by The Green Blue, a joint British Marine Federation and Royal Yachting Association initiative and have achieved the ICOMIA Clean Marina standard.

Recycling
We provide a range of recycling facilites on the Marina itself and can point you in the direction of further facilites in Audlem and beyond. A Battery Bank for smaller batteries (sorry no car batteries) is available in the Marina Reception.

Environmentally Friendly Products
We stock a range of Ecover products and environmentally friendly boat cleaners and toilet chemicals In the Marina Reception.

Renewable Energy
Our building is heated by a ground source heat pump and solar panels. These provide all the hot water for our showers and the heat for our underfloor heating.

Marina Design
Overwater was designed to provide fantastic moorings as well as creating a range of habitats to enhance the environment. Behind each set of moorings we have created shallows for fish to spawn in and have soft edged planting to encourage butterflies and dragonflies. We have planted over 8,000 hedge plants, around 200 hundred trees and a range of wildflowers on the island.
