Ho ho ho

I can't believe it's that time of year again, although it is true that time gets relatively faster the older you get (think about that one). December came and went in a blur – we had everything from freezing weather and snow (and yes we even went sledging on the farm!) to much milder and wetter days. We seem to have got through the freezing weather with only a couple of minor bursts and it has to be said the marina did look really pretty in the snow. All through December there have been all kinds of delicious smells coming from the café from their winter warmer specials and the Christmas meals were a sell out – even my mum celebrated her 80th there with a lovely evening meal for family and close friends. Father Christmas seems to have popped down most people's chimneys and daughter No.1 experienced her first Christmas working. She only had to do Christmas day and Boxing day mornings so we also got to spend some very special family time with Angus's sister and family who were up from London. The house was at best chaotic and at worst extremely loud and boisterous and I wouldn't have it any other way! Daughter No 2 celebrates her birthday today so in our house the festivities continue. Which leaves me just about enough time to say on behalf of the Maughan family, we wish you all a very Happy New Year and a cruising season that floats your boat!
