Had a brilliant time last week – John Gunstone and co, the guys who organise the Audlem Music Festival were at Overwater to film our part in their soon to be world famous Mend Our Mum DVD. They are hoping to raise funds for a lovely lade in the village who has a very rare form of cancer. She can't get the treatment she needs over here but can buy it in from America. Once the Audlem gang heard about this the whole village has been fundraising like mad to raise the £100,000 she needs. Getting back to the DVD – we were all a bit miffed that Band Aid had pinched Audlem's idea, but not being the kind of village to let things like that get in the way, John and Co have been busy filming practically every group and business in the village singing Amazing Grace. Our turn was last Tuesday, and as they were filming the Audlem Lass crew singing like professionals (I think they must have had a few Audlem Choir 'ringers' in there) a boat was just leaving the marina – when we looked up and saw the name on the boat more than a few of us felt the hairs go up on the backs of our necks – the boat was called "Grace". We're hoping this is an indication of success and that despite Sam and I being filmed singing a verse from my little Bic dinghy (and that neither of us can sing) the DVD is going to be a huge success. The Mend Our Mum DVD should be on sale from the 8th December – I'll put the details on our website when it's released.
