And breathe!

And breathe!! – the kids have gone back to school. The work-life-school run balance is looking good AND the weather has been lovely!! To top it all we've been looking after my sister-in-laws dog, a beautiful red lab called Oscar. He's impeccably behaved and has been walking to the marina with me every day. He'll happily sit by my desk and seems to get offered walks from people left, right and centre. All was going really well until she came to pick him up last week. The first time I walked down to the marina was so dull without him and the office is positively in depression! That aside, we can't help but enjoy this unseasonably lovely weather – it almost makes up for the extremely wet day we had for the first day of our festival – it was one of those days when it never seemed to stop raining. The Boat Share Show bravely carried on and by festival Sunday things were improving. Much merriment was had at the donkey derby – one race was hotly contested by Sam from the office leading daughter No.2. They were most put out at what they claimed was a false start when the race official stood in their way and demanded a re-run. Their pleas fell on deaf ears and Sam can still be heard in the office occasionally muttering "we were robbed..."
Yesterday I had the delight of seeing the marina from a drone's eye view – a friend, who's a licensed drone pilot, came along and took some stunning shots of the marina. It was brilliant to see it from the air, not least the changing view as he moved the drone around. Amazingly the camera is so good that all of it was done at quite a distance. I can't wait to see the finished images and videos. He's sent me a few already – they're on our facebook page and there's one here – see if you can spot Colin on the Wheelyboat!
