What a month it's been – summer time is always hectic at Overwater but for me personally the clash of school holidays and work can be just a bit tricky. I've manged to alleviate it to a degree by fixing daughter No. 1 up with work experience on a local dressage and livery yard and daughter No. 2 has surprised us all by asking if she can do some work experience at the marina. She might only be little but already Angus is most disgruntled that she can operate the till system faster than he can. I've currently got her working on our satisfaction survey – look out for it in your inboxes over the next month or two. While we've been arguing in the office over which questions to ask, daughter No. 2 has added that cutting edge of the young that we needed to keep us on our toes. Elsewhere, Colin and Angus have been busy top dressing some of the paths which were looking a bit worn and Moira and Sue have been working their magic and their green fingers to the bone! My next project is helping Angus to get our new lodge designs finalised and planning the new caravan pitches and loo block – u-bends and loo seats – it's all exciting stuff in our world!!
Speaking of which, I had the most bizarre phone call from one of my staff to say that he'd just spotted one of our moorers doing press ups on the jetty....and later on she was spotted doing them again on the bridge. I'm not sure what to say about that one, apart from being quietly impressed at both her level of fitness and courage to do it in such a public place – well done!
