Beware the midgets!

We've just had a lovely family holiday in Northumberland, Angus, myself and the kids. We went to Keilder Water and stayed in a lovely holiday lodge near to the reservoir itself. The dam which created Keilder Water was opened in 1982 by the Queen and is awesome to walk over. Equally impressive was the Housesteads Roman Fort, part of Hadrians Wall. Daughter No 1 was less impressed with the historical aspects of the trip and was quite put out at having to take time out from swimming to go and look "at a pile of old stones". But the best comment of the week had to come from Daughter No. 2 who had spent all week being bitten by midges and came running into the holiday lodge one night shouting "Shut the door quick! The MIDGETS are coming....."
