Big Announcement

There's a big announcement to be made today – the cygnets have hatched! We've all been watching the swans on the island for weeks now – they have a deluxe "des res" on our very exclusive island and have been sitting patiently. I've not seen them yet, although I have reports in from moorers that there are six of them and that they have been seen scurrying up onto the back of the mother swan. Poor thing – I've only got two children and she now has to cope with three times the worry!! Speaking of which we decided to spend our day off on Sunday "doing things" with the children. We had all good intentions – the morning started with Isabelle and I going for a ride while Angus and Anna "worked" in the farm office. Isabelle then disappeared on her pony for the rest of the day and, when friends arrived, Anna announced that she wanted to take them to the Marina, so we ended up on a "busman's holiday" on the Audlem Lass with a walk into the Mill Shop to buy Noisy Putty. Walking up from the bottom of the locks was lovely – there is such a nice 'holiday feel' about Audlem and we had a great time in the Mill Shop trying out the new musical instruments they've just started stocking – everything from rain makers to didgeridoos!
