Boat and Caravan Show at the NEC

Since I last blogged I sneaked off to the Boat and Caravan Show at the NEC for a day, telling Angus that it was important work event. He didn't seem convinced but humoured me nonetheless. It was a very interesting event, with lots of interesting things to see. A few boat builders were showing new boats and lots were displaying smaller craft. I was particularly taken with the rubber dinghies as I spent many, many happy hours as a child let loose in one in the River Seiont Estury in Caernarvon in North Wales. We spent our days trying to recreate exciting Swallows and Amazons like adventures but mostly ended up getting very wet and soggy, and smelling of seaweed (happy days!)

Today we had another brilliant open day and despite the cold and blustery weather were joined by lots of people who risked the prospect of hypothermia for a walk around the site. I'm not quite sure why we seem to end up with such inclement weather for our open days – I can only assume I must have been very bad in a past life!
