Can't cook, won't cook!

At the moment there is a big fund raising campaign in Audlem for "Mend my Mum" – to raise funds to send a very special lady, who has a very rare form of cancer, to America for treatment not available here on the NHS. I always feel a bit in awe of people who attempt fundraising like that as it must be such an uphill struggle when times are hard. To do our bit Debbie (Overwater Coffee Lounge) and I, organised a Pampered Chef Party which took place on Tuesday night. Sam was volunteered as "won't cook" and we had a late sub of a very dear friend James (age 13!) who stood in at short notice for the "can't cook". Both 'chefs' surpassed themselves and produced very credible Festive Feasts which we all got to scoff at the end. James pipped Sam to the post in the vote, winning the crown of best chef. I really must thank everyone who came along – it was a lovely night of fun and laughter – just what you need when winter beckons. Thanks must also go to Wine Geek – the wonderful little wine shop in the village who provided the wine at a much discounted rate (although I wasn't too keen on the headache the next day – must have been a dodgy bit of lemonade.....)!!!
