We've been working on our entrance last week and this – a few of the boards have needed replacing and we've found them rather tricky to replace with their current fixings. Angus and Colin have spent many, many hours of discussion as to how to make them easier to replace and better fixed and finally came up with their master plan. I have to say that I have been a mere by stander, I'm useless at seeing things in 3 D in my head and when they both start discussing channelled steel and nuts and bolts all I really hear is "blah, blah, blah, blah....." It's taken all my powers of concentration to focus on what they've been doing. The weather has been a little unkind – we lost nearly a whole day to rain and wind, but we're getting there, slowly. The main entrance bit is done, and now has double boards to stop boats with a lower freeboard from going under the topboard should they misjudge it and nudge the side. That said it was a little disheartening for the lads to finish the main section on Tuesday to stand back and watch a novice boater crash full speed and head on into the section they'd just fixed! Hopefully we should be finished fairly soon – we're doing the re-fuelling bay in stages so we can always have one side open and most people have been fantastic in their support – thank you very much – the lads have really appreciated it!
