Horsing around

Well I can't even pretend I've been doing much work today, but I was at the Marina, sort of... Today has been our riding club's open show and it was held on our field by the side of the Marina drive. It was a tactical offer on our behalf – means we can ride to the show without having to use the trailer. It was also the first show that I've competed at in over 10 years, which really does make me feel old! My horse Rupert is getting on a bit – he's 21 this year, but there's a lot of life in the old horse yet so we attempted the ridden veteran class and came home with a very credible 6th, despite a rather dodgy canter on the wrong leg on the left rein. It was a good show for Isabelle, she won her jumping class, was first in junior handler and reserve champion in-hand, 5th in working hunter, 2nd in handy pony, oh and she came 3rd dressed as a chicken.........
