A milestone or two

Crikey we seem to have passed a few major milestones over the last couple of weeks! At the end of March it was 5 years since the marina opened and what a long way we've come since them! At opening it was just Sue and I working out of a little white portacabin, surrounded by gleaming new jetties and lots and lots of bare earth. I should have forgotten the stress caused by trying to get the facilities building open but it still makes me shudder occasionally (although I have stopped dreaming about tiles and grouting...) It's also 3 years since we took over running the workshop, with sue and Ade still happily cruising the network on the Cheese Boat – it's lovely to see them occasionally when they're in Audlem. Last week was a year since I was diagnosed with cancer – AND I'M STILL HERE!!! so that's got to be worth celebrating (although bits of me are now missing – fortunately the cancerous tumour in my left breast being one of them), and finally this week daughter No. 1 reached the grand age of 14! So in summary – the marina made it to year 5 without everyone sinking or leaving, I'm still alive and Daughter No 1 is now old enough to do babysitting.....that's got to be a result!!
