Mud and my mother!

Just had to make an entry about today and not really about the marina – more about mud really and my poor mother. Mother has been desparate to see the marina with the water in and she and Isabelle accompanied me down to site this afternoon. She was thrilled to see it but, naturally, after the novelty had worn off and the cold started to bite she was all for home.
As is often the case someone arrived to have a look around so Mother and Isabelle announced that they would walk home. With mother and daughter safely dispatched I settled down to an afternoon on site. Little did I know the trouble the pair of them could get themselves into. Mother decided to take the "short cut" across the newly bladed soil and discovered just how sticky it can be. Isabelle came to the rescue and also got stuck.

Eventually Grandma freed Izzy and she ran all the way home to get Daddy who arrived in the Land Rover to find Grandma well and truely stuck. Even after much pulling Grandma remained well and truely stuck and to make matters worse was laughing so much she was practically helpless. Eventually Angus managed to pull her free of her wellies and Isabelle stood on the side and made helpful comments while a rather muddy and disgruntled Angus tried to retrieve the wellies. The big deliberation when I reached home was whether to let her into the house for a shower – or to just hose her down in the yard
