My blog is now a year old!

I just realised that it has been over a year since I've been writing this blog – where on earth does the time go to! I just looked back at last year's post – this time last year the facilities building was up, but inside was just wooden partitions and a mass of cables – seems really strange looking back, particularly as I'm sitting here in the office looking out onto a marina full of boats. This time last year we didn't even have the water in – everyone was gearing up for the "Great Flood" as we called it. This time, this year and I'm looking out of my window wondering when it will ever stop raining!! We had a terribly stormy night, it even brought a tree down on the main Audlem to Whitchurch Road, creating a very interesting diversion through the tiny back lanes. It reminded me of a fantastic poem by Ted Hughes which went something along the lines of "This house has been far out at sea all night...".

As I'm typing a large cygnet has just waddled up to Chris's window in Brokerage. He's now patrolling around the building looking hopeful that someone will throw him a crust – reminds me of the kids when I get home at night.......
