Chicken Pox! I can't believe it but for the 2nd time in my adult life I've had Chicken Pox! Nothing has kept me away from the marina office for more than a week or so (apart from a bit of cancer surgery) until I got Chicken Pox! Poor Sam was cowering in a corner (he's not had it) and the doctor recommended that for the safety of the general public (or words to that effect) I should stay home until the spots are gone. Fortunately the 2 weeks of house arrest coincided with the children being off for Easter so it wasn't all bad. Now I'm back in and trying to catch up on the growing pile of paperwork on my desk. I've also just had a lovely morning of tree planting. David Wilson Homes Ltd have very kindly donated some trees to enhance the area around the Wheelyboat. Rodney and the Wheelyboat team are delighted with them – two cherry blossom, a couple of rowans and two maple, and they're huge! Rod and I were expecting a few saplings and to dig a few little holes and pop them in. Once they arrived the suggestion of a mini digger was looking a much more viable and welcome option! The only snag being that the two trees nearest the Wheelyboat had to be dug in by hand as the ground's so wet the digger would have made too much mess. So Colin, Rod, Dave Roberts, Campbell, Angus, myself and even the man from Wilson Homes (who'd only come along to have his photo taken planting a tree) had to pick up a shovel and work our way through the clay. It was slippy, slidey, muddy and wet, but once we'd got them in they looked great! I can't believe how good planting a tree looks and feels!!
