Everywhere I look this week ar ducks chasing ducks, or to be more precise male mallards chasing female ones. Spring is definitely here and everything is bursting with life. The hedge plants on our main drive have been getting greener and greener and whiter and whiter with blossom literally every single day. The grass crops on the fields either side if the drive are now that lovely emerald colour and Angus is feeling very optimistic about their yields this year. The grass on the main part of the marina is a slower growing, trample resistent type – and it tends to suffer from the thinner soil and the wet weather we've had over the winter. We're now giving it a bit of TLC in the form of some fertiliser and a bit of lime to perk it up and then we'll have a go at getting rid of some of the mossy patches which can soon take over. My wildlife garden is taking shape. We already have some blossom on some of the trees and the willow cuttings we planted to make a live willow den have taken well. Everything is so vibrant at the moment – and for the next couple of days the forecast is sunshine – perfect for chilling out and enjoying those easter eggs – which brings me back to those ducks – no ducklings to report so far but keep your eyes peeled and let me know if you spot any.
