Summer and winter

Well I was going to write something about how the autumn is upon us, winter fast approaching and all that, and then I realised I'm writing this with all the doors open, the sun shining and I'm still wearing a t-shirt! What a lovely few days we've been having – a little bit of rain but it's so mild. Good job too given that the central heating seems to have packed in at home. If it's not fixed by winter I'm seriously considering moving into my office – lovely underfloor heating, powered sustainably by a ground source heat pump and solar thermal cells! Workwise I now know how the buyers for fashion stores feel – everyone else is still thinking about summer and for a few weeks now all I've been thinking about is winter works. We have a few shared ownership boats in now, some managed, many more self managed and they all have different requirements for winter works. I think we've just about managed to juggle time in the shed to make sure everyone who wants one can have a slot, as well as sorting out all our winiterisation work for everyone else – Simon's head is reeling from all the boat names and job sheets I've been firing at him – and it's going to cost me some decent Christmas treats for the staff this year!.......ooops....did I mention "Christmas".......
