The sun is out

What a difference a bit of sunshine makes!! Everyone is walking around the marina with a smile on their faces (not that they don't do that most of the time anyway!) At last there's a feeling of spring, cold, but a proper feeling of spring. It's seemed like an awfully long winter this year (given that it started half way through last 'summer'). So what's been happening around here – well the 'big boat' has arrived – we've playing host to a brand new broad beam from Elton Moss boats; not in the water, but on Angus's carefully engineered railway sleepers down by the main car park. I have serious boat envy – it was the starburst granite worktops that finally did it. I missed the actual craning off of the boat from the wagon – I was chasing aorund Whitchurch, picking children, but daughter No. 1 and her friend had spotted the crane from the farm and hot footed it down here to see all the action – so I got a running commentary over the hands free while I was driving back. We've also been planting and Tony and his team have put in around a 1,000 new hedge plants round the caravan site (on what they claim was the coldest day of the year – I'm not sure about that, but they did look a bit blue!) and I'm currently in the process of ordering new picnic benches to put around the moorings. It's truly a lovely feeling to be thinking about the new season. I've just been out and about taking photos in the sunshine and I even came across a pair of swans building their nest on one of the banks between the boats. Roll on spring! Oh, and in case you're wondering....I still haven't caught that mouse......
