Take a break

Last week was a week of breaks in more ways than one! Angus was 40 last week so I'd planned a little romantic break at a beautiful spot in North Wales called Lake Vyrnwy. It's only about an hour and twenty minutes away and is well worth a visit. The lake was created to provide drinking water for Liverpool and the Victorian dam is immense – the whole area was purchased via an Act of Parliament and the village in the valley moved to make way for the lake – you can only begin to imagine how the locals must have felt about that! There's a 12 mile road all round the lake which you can cycle and lots and lots of walking, including a walk to the most beautiful waterfall. It should have been the perfect spot for our little romantic interlude apart from the fact that there was no mobile reception anywhere remotely near to where we were staying. Now that normally shouldn't be too much of a problem, apart from the fact that this wasn't the only break of the week because on the Sunday before, Anna, our youngest, managed to break her leg and after a night spent in hospital cme home sporting a very pink, very extensive plaster from thigh to toe! Poor Grandma, she had willingly volunteered to look after the girls when we were away but she wasn't expecting this! And the cause of Anna's break.....dodge ball...on a trampoline...with her boyfriend.......!!
