I've lost count of how many people have been into the Marina Reception this week to tell me there's a sheep in with Angus's cattle. Firstly I have to thank them for their concern – we really do appreciate it. There's always a time when something gets out and we don't know about. On this occasion however there can only be one response... "that's not a sheep" – it might look like a sheep, it might sound like a sheep, but it's not really a sheep – THAT is Baa Baa! Those of you who have followed my blog will know that Baa Baa belongs to Isabelle. She had him for her 10th birthday and bottle fed him from a week old. In consequence he has no idea that he looks like a sheep. He has been in the house on numerous occasions (much to Angus's disgust), has been taught "sheep agility" over the horse jumps, and comes to call. The only snag is now he's bigger he doesn't appreciate his size and has taken to escaping from every field or pen we put him in. He them finds his way to the house to look for "the girl", or alternatively he goes around all the feed sheds stuffing his face with corn. As you can imagine that's probably not good for a sheep (even one that doesn't think he's a sheep) so Angus came up with a solution. Baa Baa has been banished to a faraway field (the only one with stock still out in – for company). So far he has been rescued twice from the brambles and now plaintively "baas" at anyone passing – so if you do happen to go past – call him over – he likes a bit of a rub under his chin...and tell him not to worry – "the girl" will be down to see him soon.
