Twinkle, Twinkle

Brrrrr – what a change in the weather to last month. Winter really does feel like it's arrived at last. We're selling coal and logs like they're going out of fashion and the only thing that's worrying me is will there be any left to keep the home fire burning! Our house is quite old and very, very cold – in fact last year I actually threatened to leave home and move into the first available boat – I think it was at the point where I seriously contemplated wearing a wooly hat in bed to prevent hypothermia! This year seems positively tropical by comparison (at the moment)! The children broke up from school on Wednesday and are currently winding themselves up nicely for Christmas. Anna has a thriving handmade Christmas card business up and running and Isabelle is working on her second batch of mince pies. All of which has been completely surpassed by the newest member of the family – "Twinkle", a 7 week old black kitten which somehow we got talked into yesterday....but that's another story...
