It was a busy bank holiday at Overwater Marina this year as we played host to two local charity events.
On the Friday, moorers, caravanners and locals gathered in the canal side marquee for a charity quiz and hog roast.
Quiz master and Marina Manager David Johnson, set a number of testing quiz rounds as well as acting as the auctioneer for a wide-ranging promise auction – lots included 2-nights stay in Overwater's luxury glamping wagons, a gin tasting trip to the local, and very popular, Three Wrens Gin distillery and a meal for 2 at Café at Bridge 80 at Overwater. Other gifts were generously donated by The Combermere Arms, Audlem Chippy, Ruth's Flowers, The Audlem Lass and many others.
A great night was had by all and a total of £2599.85 was raised for the Audlem Lass, supporting the RNLI (Royal National Lifeboat Institute), and Overwater Wheelyboat Services.
On Saturday, Overwater supported the Audlem Music and Arts Festival by hosting Music at the Marina, with live bands throughout the day and night.
Local bands kept the crowds entertained throughout the day and evening, while volunteers and Café at Bridge 80 worked tirelessly to keep them served with food and drink.
The music festival team now hope to reinstate the ever-popular Audlem Music and Arts Festival in 2023
We would like to thank all the volunteers that helped over the weekend, we couldn't do it without you!!
