Nantwich Food Festival

news 3

Nantwich Food Festival (Aug 30 – Sep 1) will be buzzing this year with all the great Chef demonstrations.
Festival Director, Andrew Martin says "Nantwich Food Festival is unique in providing such high quality entertainment free to visitors. I am thrilled to confirm the wonderful line-up of 4 Celebrity Chefs who will be demonstrating at the Civic Hall".
Kick-starting the Festival, and new for 2019 is the talented Rosemary Shrager, renowned for her Cookery School in Tunbridge Wells and her many TV appearances, including the Big Family Cooking Showdown. Rosemary endeared herself to the nation when she took part in I'm a Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, where she proved she could cook just about anything, anywhere. Her greatest joy in all her teaching is to inspire us by sharing her passion for food.
Her latest book -'Rosemary Shrager's Cookery Course' was published in 2018.
Sean Wilson was so popular with Festival Foodies in 2018 that we have again booked him for 2019. Completely self-taught, Sean has been a serious cook for over 30 years. His followers will know of his entertaining style whilst creating innovative recipes using his own multi-award winning cheeses. Sean's Saddleworth Cheese Company creates six artisanal cheeses, with provenance as their byword. All have been British Cheese Award favourites with Gold medals both nationally and internationally and 36 international awards to date.
Also new to the Festival for 2019, and well known to viewers of Saturday Kitchen Live and Best Bites on BBC1, and Food Unwrapped on Channel 4, is the ever-popular Matt Tebbutt.
Matt has worked in some of London's most prestigious restaurants, including Marco Pierre White's Oak Room and Criterion, and with Alastair Little, whom he cites as the greatest influence on his cuisine. Matt will be demonstrating on Sunday 1st September, so don't miss it.
The Festival is delighted to again welcome Nigel Brown as both Demonstration Kitchen compere and a Celebrity Chef in his own right. Having spent a lifetime in the hotel and catering industry, Nigel has worked at some of the UK's biggest and busiest hotels.
In 2007 Nigel launched his famous cookery school, The Nigel Brown Cookery Academy. Amongst some of his more memorable achievements he was featured in a celebrity chef calendar (with his clothes on!) and has catered for Nelson Mandela and Princess Anne. Nigel's first cookery book (NB. HOW TO COOK) was published in October 2015, and within eight weeks it won the prestigious award "The Best Cookery School Cookbook in the UK 2016"
Nigel says "I'm really looking forward to creating some fabulous recipes during my demonstrations at this year's Nantwich Food and Drink Festival. I'll be using some of the finest produce and ingredients being showcased by the festival's stall holders so be sure to come and have a chat with me and see what I'll be cooking. Most importantly though, don't forget to shop till you drop and support all of those amazing food and drink producers! Happy cooking. Nigel x"
Cheerbook Farm Shop will be donating produce for all the meat to be used in chef demonstrations; we thank them sincerely. Cheerbrook is a major Festival sponsor.
