How did Christmas get here so fast? When I last looked at the calendar it was only October! But no matter how much I protest it is indeed here and the children are so excited they will probably spontaneously combust by this afternoon. In response to all this excitement I'm hiding out in the Marina
Most of us went off to the Lord Combermere in Audlem last night for an informal xmas do. If you've never been, it's a lovely family run pub right in the middle of the village – very warm and friendly. Whilst most of us tackled a range of meals on the menu my band of merry engineers were adament
This is the first year I've missed the big switch on of the Christmas lights in Audlem. We had to go to the Marketing Cheshire Awards at Tatton Park – we were shortlisted for the Contribution to Cheshire Award – which was fantastic....except it clashed with the big red guy with the white beard arriving
I've been getting shouted at by Simon our workshop manger for not writing anything lately. It's not that there's been nothing going on – rather that it's been too hectic to sit down and login. The cruising season has finally come to a well earned rest but somehow we continue to be busy
I lead such a glamorous life – one minute I'm at the cut and thrust of the business, working out cash flows and marketing strategies, then the next I get brought back down to earth to clean up the little accident left by dog in reception! Never mind, as my gran would have said "at least it knocks
Well I was going to write something about how the autumn is upon us, winter fast approaching and all that, and then I realised I'm writing this with all the doors open, the sun shining and I'm still wearing a t-shirt! What a lovely few days we've been having – a little bit of rain but it's
Just every so often in this job something small happens which makes you chuckle, and chuckle and chuckle – and I have to say it's not often it happens when you're doing something as mundane as invoicing. There I was, tackling the new invoicing system (we've gone over to SAGE – or over to)
There was definitely a good choice of beer and cider on offer at the Audlem Beer Festival this weekend, and it was lovely to see so many of our moorers supporting the event. We popped down on Monday afternoon and spent many a happy hour watching people wobble around and stagger off down the high street.
We've just had a lovely family holiday in Northumberland, Angus, myself and the kids. We went to Keilder Water and stayed in a lovely holiday lodge near to the reservoir itself. The dam which created Keilder Water was opened in 1982 by the Queen and is awesome to walk over. Equally impressive
